Weekly Giveaway Rules

The Short Version

  • Comment on that week's giveaway post on @firepathresume to enter. That's it.
  • No purchase needed. You don't have to follow us, tag anyone or share anything.
  • One winner each week gets one month of FirePath Pro (approximate retail value $12 CAD) and a 15 to 20 minute resume review phone call with the founder. The call has no cash value.
  • Open to residents of Canada (except Quebec) and the United States who are of legal age where they live.
  • The winner is picked at random from eligible comments and has to answer a skill-testing question.
  • This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.

The full rules below are what count if anything here is unclear.

1. Who Runs the Giveaway

The giveaway is run by FirePath (firepathresume.com), based in Ontario, Canada. In these rules, we and us mean FirePath.

Instagram and Meta Platforms are not involved in running it. By entering, you release Instagram and Meta Platforms from any responsibility relating to the giveaway, and you agree to these rules and to Instagram's own terms of use.

2. How Each Giveaway Works

Each week we publish one giveaway post on our Instagram account, @firepathresume. Every weekly giveaway is a separate giveaway with one prize.

A giveaway opens when its post goes up and closes at the date and time stated in that post's caption (Eastern Time). Comments made after the closing time don't count.

3. Who Can Enter

You can enter if, when you enter, you:

  • live in Canada (except the province of Quebec) or in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia;
  • have reached the age of majority where you live; and
  • have a public or private Instagram account in your own name or handle.

You can't enter if you're an owner, employee or contractor of FirePath, or a member of their immediate family or household. The giveaway is void where prohibited by law.

4. How to Enter

Comment on the giveaway post during the entry period. No purchase or payment is needed, and buying anything won't improve your chances. You don't need to follow us, tag other people or share the post to enter.

You get one entry per giveaway, however many times you comment. Using more than one account, bots or any automated way of entering will disqualify you. We may also disqualify comments that are spam, abusive or break Instagram's rules.

5. The Prize

Each weekly giveaway has one prize, made up of:

  • One month of FirePath Pro, with an approximate retail value of $12 CAD. It's given as a single-use code for one free month of Pro on a FirePath account (creating an account is free). If the winner already pays for Pro, we'll credit one month to their subscription instead.
  • One resume review phone call with the founder, 15 to 20 minutes long, at a time we agree with the winner within 60 days of the draw. The call has no cash value.

The total approximate value of each prize is $12 CAD. Prizes can't be transferred or exchanged for cash. If a part of the prize can't be provided for reasons outside our control, we may replace it with something of equal or greater value. If the call can't be scheduled within 60 days because the winner doesn't respond, that part of the prize is forfeited.

6. Odds of Winning

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for that week's giveaway.

7. How the Winner Is Picked

Within three business days after a giveaway closes, we pick one winner at random from all eligible entries, using a random number generator over the list of eligible commenters.

We contact the winner by direct message from @firepathresume only. We will never ask for a payment, a password or card details. If someone else messages you claiming you've won, it isn't us.

Before receiving the prize, the selected entrant must, within 72 hours of our message:

  • reply to confirm they're eligible and give a name and email address; and
  • correctly answer, without help, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.

If the selected entrant doesn't reply in time, isn't eligible or doesn't answer the question correctly, they don't win, and we pick another entrant at random from the remaining eligible entries.

A person can win at most once in any 90-day period. With the winner's permission, we announce their Instagram handle in a Story and in the giveaway post's caption.

8. Your Information

Your comment is public on Instagram under Instagram's own terms. From the winner, we collect only what we need to confirm eligibility and deliver the prize: a name, an email address and, for the call, a phone number. We use it only to run the giveaway and deliver the prize, as described in our Privacy Policy. Entering doesn't sign you up for marketing emails.

9. Changes and Cancellation

If a giveaway can't run as planned because of fraud, technical problems, Instagram removing the post, or anything else outside our control, we may cancel or change it, subject to the law where you live. Any change to these rules is posted on this page with a new date.

10. Responsibility

To the extent the law allows, by entering you release FirePath and its operators from responsibility for any loss or harm arising from the giveaway or the prize. Nothing in these rules limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

11. Governing Law

These rules are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
