Getting started
What is FirePath?
FirePath is a resume builder designed for firefighter applicants. It helps you build ATS-friendly resumes with templates, keyword analysis, and tools built around fire service hiring.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes, an account is required so your resumes are saved and accessible across devices. You can sign up with your email or use Google.
How much does FirePath cost?
FirePath has two tiers. The free tier is a complete resume builder — edit, customize, switch between 8 templates, and download unlimited PDFs and Word docs at no cost. The Pro plan adds AI writing help — the writing tab (bullets, summary, cover letter, skills coverage), the full keyword analysis breakdown, interview prep, and the other 8 premium templates. Pro is billed at $12 CAD/month, $30 CAD every 3 months (about $10/mo — save ~17%), or $54 CAD every 6 months (about $9/mo — save 25%).
Can I use FirePath for non-firefighter jobs?
The resume builder works for any job, but the keyword analysis, templates, and career guides are designed specifically for fire service applicants.
Is FirePath only for Canadian firefighters?
No. FirePath is based out of Ontario, but the core approach is built around translating universal soft skills and worker competencies into firefighter-relevant language. We can't provide department-specific nuance for every jurisdiction, but most candidates can still use the builder to make their resume more professional and better aligned with fire service hiring.
Is there a mobile app?
Not currently. FirePath is a web app that works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or phone.
Resumes
How many resumes can I create?
There's no limit. Create as many resumes as you need — one for each job application if you like.
Can I download my resume as a PDF?
Yes. PDF and DOCX export are free for everyone — download as many times as you want. No subscription required.
What templates are available?
We offer 16 professionally designed templates. 8 are free; the other 8 are part of the Pro plan. You can preview them all before choosing, and switch templates at any time without losing your content.
Can I import an existing resume?
Yes. You can upload a PDF or DOCX and FirePath will extract your content using AI. The free tier includes 5 uploads per 30 days. Pro gets 5 uploads per week.
What is keyword analysis?
Keyword analysis scans your resume against fire service job postings and identifies soft skills, competencies, and experience signals you may be missing. The free tier shows a preview — enough to see how it works. The Pro plan shows the full breakdown.
Does FirePath write my resume for me?
No. FirePath gives you tools, structure, and firefighter-specific direction to help you write a stronger, more professional resume. It can help you translate your background into language that will make more sense to departments, but you still need to put in the work. Read the guides carefully. The skills, competencies, and interview-focused content are there to help you explain your experience more clearly on paper and in interviews.
What happens when my monthly upload quota runs out?
You can keep building and editing resumes — only AI imports are quota-limited. Your remaining uploads reset on a 30-day rolling window. If you need more right away, upgrading to Pro gets you 5 uploads per week.
Job board
How does the job board work?
We curate firefighter job postings from departments across Canada and keep them updated. The job board is free to browse — no account needed. You can also subscribe for email alerts when new postings go up.
Can I share my resume with a department?
You can generate a shareable link for any resume from the builder. Set the visibility to public and share the link directly.
Account & security
How do I reset my password?
Click 'Forgot Password' on the login page. We'll send a reset link to your email. The link expires in 1 hour.
Is my data secure?
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, HTTP-only cookies, and access controls. Your resume data is private by default, but authorized staff may access it when reasonably necessary for support, security, billing, maintenance, or legal compliance.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Dashboard > Settings and click 'Delete Account'. This permanently removes all your data within 30 days.
Billing
How do I upgrade?
You can upgrade from the dashboard. We use Stripe for secure payment processing. Pro is billed monthly ($12 CAD), every 3 months ($30 CAD — save ~17%), or every 6 months ($54 CAD — save 25%). All prices in CAD.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from your account settings. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again.
Can I switch between billing intervals?
Yes. You can switch between monthly, 3-month, and 6-month billing from the billing portal. Changes take effect at your next renewal — we don't prorate mid-period.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are considered within 7 days of purchase if you haven't materially used the Pro features (exports, scans, AI generations). After that, subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period, but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges. Email team@firepathresume.com with any refund questions.
